‘Winter is here’, but unfortunately it’s a sunny summer
If you’re finally caught up to the season 6 finale of Game of Thrones and just can’t wait for more, you may just find your wait unbearably long. You’re not going to believe what the show’s creators, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, announced on the UFC Unfiltered podcast yesterday.
Weiss and Benioff said:
We’re starting a bit later because at the end of this season, ‘Winter is here’ – and that means that sunny weather doesn’t really serve our purposes any more. So we kind of pushed everything down the line, so we could get some grim, grey weather even in the sunnier places that we shoot.
Hitflix writes, “This, combined with the fact that next season will only be seven episodes, can’t make fans happy,” even though they feel fans will forgive the short season and delay after watching the great season 6 finale.
This is just the beginning of GOT anxiety. Variety wrote that GOT “eyes 8 seasons, HBO ‘open’ to prequel series.” It’s getting close to being over. We have to sit here and wait, counting down to the end of it all. Now we will have to wait longer than expected for a season shorter than we are used to.
