Parents Arrested After Forcing Their Child To Sleep Outside For A Month

CHANDLER, AZ – Parents in Chandler, Arizona were booked on child abuse charges after it was found that they forced their 16-year-old son to sleep outside for over a month. The boy was reportedly forced to stay outside in the summer heat, rain and dust storms and use the yard as his restroom.

[contextly_auto_sidebar id=”CV4yTe3KuXqzApv0MIhaAXK8O6XvAtKu”] Authorities were notified by the boy’s uncle of the alleged abuse after the child told him what was going on. Police reported that the father was apparently upset at the boy for using headphones on his gaming console. Brian Romine, the boy’s father, also complained that the teen had been opening cake frosting containers. Because of this, Romine gave him a sleeping bag, a pillow and told him to go sleep on the lawn chair in the back patio.

When police questioned the boy’s stepmom Shelly Romine, she said the boy had been misbehaving and that the answer to her problems was to “take a lot of drugs,” according to officers.

Child Protective Services took the boy into custody.
