In an attempt to advocate for her own agenda while simultaneously taking a shot at President Donald Trump for declaring a national emergency to build his border wall, Hillary Clinton tweeted on Monday, “The real national emergencies: – Relentless gun violence. – Children separated from their families at the border. – Climate change. – Americans dying for lack of health care.”
Twittersphere didn’t take too kindly to the former Secretary of State’s tweet, with many of the respondents tearing her apart in a rather comical fashion.
That is just sampling – you could get lost in the feed, spending hours seeing people roast Clinton in her attempt to stay relevant.
This could very well be political posturing as Clinton prepares for a 2020 Presidential run, something she has flirted with, but won’t say officially if it’s in the cards. The New York Times reported that Clinton said the following when she was asked about the possibility of another presidential run:
“Well, I’d like to be president,” she said, during the public taping at the 92nd Street Y of Ms. Swisher’s podcast. “The work would be work that I feel very well prepared for having been at the Senate for eight years, having been a diplomat in the State Department, and it’s just going to be a lot of heavy lifting.”
It seems that Clinton can’t get over the idea that Trump is in the Oval Office instead of her. Could the Democratic field for 2020 gain another competitor? Is it possible we could see a rematch in the next election? Only time will tell. In the meantime, her attempt to attack President Trump ended up getting her burned.
