Gary Johnson wins double digit support in a new Fox News poll released yesterday. In the hypothetical three-way match-up between Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, and Gary Johnson, Trump received 42%, Clinton received 39%, while Johnson came in at 10%.

Gary Johnson did best with people under 35, getting 18%, compared to Trump’s 31% and Clinton’s 40%. He fared worse with older folks, getting only 4% with people 55+. He did almost as well as Trump with blacks, though both received only single digits while Clinton claimed 86%.

Johnson took equal support from both candidates, getting 8% of Republicans and 8% of Democrats. He also fared well among independents winning 18% , compared to Clinton’s 24% and Trump’s 41%. He did better with liberals than he did hard-core conservatives, winning the support of 11% of those identifying as liberals and 8% of conservatives.

This is the second national  poll in which Johnson has gotten double-digits, the first was in March. Recently, Johnson also received 14% in a poll conducted in his home state of New Mexico.

He is the only Libertarian Party candidate that has been polled so far.

The Fox News poll was based on landline and cellphone interviews with 1,021 randomly chosen registered voters nationwide  from May 14-17, 2016.  The poll has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3%.
