BREAKING: FBI Will Review Additional Clinton Emails

by Brian Nichols

In a shocking turn of events, the FBI has announced they are reopening the Hillary Clinton private email server case.

According to a letter sent by FBI Director James Comey to congressional committee chairs, the re-discovery of “new emails…pertinent to the investigation” was the main reason for the reopening of the investigation.

In the letter, Comey states the FBI learned of the existence of more emails “that appear to be pertinent to the investigation.”

He goes on to state that he “agreed that the FBI should take appropriate investigative steps designed to allow investigators to review these emails to determine whether they contain classified information, as well as to asses their importance to our investigation.”

The timing of the reopening of the investigation is nothing short of astonishing, especially with regards to Clinton being just over a week out from the 2016 presidential election. It is unclear up to this point what impact the reopening of the investigation will hold regarding the Clinton campaign’s polling, but it is certain this new development will play a crucial factor in the coming days.

The Libertarian Republic will have more on this story as it continues to develop throughout the coming hours and days.

NOTE: A previous version of this story stated that the FBI had “reopened” its case against Clinton. While this was the initial report, the actual FBI memo suggested only that the Bureau would review additional emails possibly relevant to the investigation.
