Anyone who has kids is definitely going nuts at home during the Coronavirus pandemic. We’re all trying to keep them occupied and keep them from destroying the house.
Worry no more! In this article, I’ll give you the ultimate ideas to keep the little ones out of trouble and out of your hair.
#1: Computer / Card Games
While many parents are struggling to work from home, the kids are having a hard time as well. They are getting bored and don’t know what to do with their time. A simple solution is to set them up to play card games online. Solitaire Bliss is a great website for the kids to use.
One of my favourite card games to play online is pyramid solitaire on Solitaire Bliss. It uses math, which is an added bonus! Here are the simple instructions on how to play.
- Make matches of two cards to equal thirteen
- Any of the open cards can be used
- Deal the cards from the deck until you reach a pair
- Kings can be used by themselves, as they equal number thirteen
- Keep making pairs until there are no more cards or moves left
- You win the game by getting rid of all the cards
Pyramid solitaire will help the children use their minds. It’s educational and fun at the same time, a win-win!!!
#2: Baking
Baking is an amazing option to keep everyone busy and happy. The kids really love it and guess what, you’ll get delicious baked goods to enjoy at the end. Yummy!
Keeping basic ingredients stocked up in your pantry will allow you the chance to make almost anything you desire, any time of the week. Here’s a list to always have on hand:
- Flour
- Sugar
- Brown Sugar
- Baking powder or baking soda
- Eggs
- Milk
- Oil or butter
- Vanilla (optional)
Being in the kitchen can teach your kids a new skill that will be beneficial for everyone. So, the next time your child says they are bored, get them in the kitchen and whip up your favourite cookies or cake and enjoy.
#3: Yoga for Kids
Exercise of any kind is beneficial for everyone in the entire family. Kids need to burn lots of energy and that might be hard to do while stuck inside the house. Get them started while they are young so they can learn healthy lifestyle habits that they can take with them in the future.
Yoga is an excellent choice for kids to try at home. It can be calming and fun at the same time. There are plenty of poses that you can find online that are suitable for young ages or for beginners. Be sure to check those out and enjoy some quality time with your family.
Take Away:
With everyone being at home, it can definitely be a challenging time. But don’t worry! If you can, do any of the above activities, everyone will feel a lot happier. An added bonus is that your family will become more connected!
