‘Pacific Rim’ Sequel Release Date Confirmed

After years of speculation and rumors, a release date has finally been confirmed for Pacific Rim 2: February 23, 2018. In addition to the release date, the film is confirmed to be directed by Stephen S. DeKnight and starring John Boyega as the son of Idris Elba‘s character in the original.

The original’s director, Guillermo del Toro, will remain as a writer, and this is DeKnight’s film directorial debut. He has worked on several television series, including Spartacus and the first season of Marvel’s Daredevil. Boyega rose to stardom last year with his outstanding turn as Finn in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
