California Councilman Demands Investigation Into Cop Who Posted “Racially Sensitive” Obama Pictures (VIDEO)
CHICO, CA – A Chico city councilman demanded an investigation into a police officer who posted ‘racially sensitive’ images in 2009 of President Barack Obama as the Joker as well as a Confederate flag in the shape of a skull.
Councilman Randall Stone called for an internal review after seeing the posts on Officer Todd Boothe’s public Facebook page.
“He posted the materials,” Stone said. “They’ve been out there, open and notorious they’ve been out there for years.” Stone found the images after the police officer posted on his page calling him “incompetent”. The Chico Police Officer’s Association is accusing Stone of unfair retaliation after the insult.
“I feel this is a witch hunt,” said spokesman Peter Durfee. “Bottom line, he got his feelings hurt.” Officer Boothe’s supporters believe that he is protected by the First Amendment.
“Last time I checked, and like I keep saying, this is still the USA, and freedom of speech is freedom of speech,” said Durfee.
