The Secret to Longer Productive Streaks Is in a Good Break

Socialized

Productivity is the ideal state to be in when working, because it helps you work better, rather than harder. Being productive can feel like the greatest way to spend the workday, but unfortunately, it is difficult to be productive day in and day out. Your productive streaks can seem difficult to predict, leaving you to struggle through most days. Rather than hope you will be productive at work, better your break. Breaks are the opportunity to give your mind a rest so you go back to work and tackle the challenges head-on. The better the break, the more productive you will be.

 Better Your Sleep Schedule

Before you can worry about your break, however, you are going to need to better your sleep schedule. Not only can a poor night’s sleep affect your performance at work, but it also lowers your immune system’s ability to fight off infections, makes you more moody and irritable, and can make it impossible to work easily. Go to bed at the same time every day, aim to get eight hours, and wake up at the same time every day. You might also want to either stay away from electronics or turn on the night shift mode so that you can let your body sleep deeply every night.

Bring Healthy Meals from Home

Now that you have bettered your chances of a having a work day, you can then work on keeping up the momentum by improving your break. Start first by ditching the unhealthy meals you might be eating at work and instead make healthy meals to bring at the start of your week. This will give you more time to enjoy the morning before work, and still allow you to eat healthy every day.

 Get Away from Your Desk

Never take a break at your desk. You need to remove yourself from the space so that you can have a clear demarcation line. If you aren’t at your desk, you don’t have to see the work you have to do. This, in turn, will help you relax and reset. If you can, try taking your breaks outside near green space.

Have Fun and Take Your Mind off Your Work

As you enjoy your food, take your mind off work completely by distracting yourself with some fun games. This could be a game on your phone, or it could be playing casino games on Unibet. The more invested you are in the game, the less likely your brain will wander back to what is causing you stress at your work desk.

Get A Few Minutes of Exercise Before Returning to Work

If you can, try to get at least a few minutes of exercise before returning to work. This could be done by doing a workout routine, or just by taking the stairs. Either way, the extra boost of endorphins and an extra shot of oxygen to your brain will help you get back to work in a great mood.

Your break is your time to reset, and it should never be underestimated. Forcing yourself to work through your lunch will not help. The goal should always be to work more productively, and a break will help you do that.
