Chris Matthews says Obama has met his match in ‘Brilliant’ Ted Cruz

MSNBC host Chris Matthews forced the right-wing universe to do a double-take when he stated, “I think Ted Cruz is brilliant.”

Matthews was referring to Cruz’s strategy to battle Obamacare, seemingly praising the Texas senator even after calling him a political terrorist a day before.

“The president has met his match in this guy. He set this thing up months ago with no budget agreement, therefore no appropriations, therefore the government would be completely exposed this morning, at midnight last night, to completely shut down. He knows what he’s doing,” he adds.
