It was discovered Monday that Fox News will keep Judge Andrew Napolitano off the air indefinitely following his accusations that the British foreign surveillance agency, the Government Communications Headquarters, “most likely” provided then-President Obama with transcripts of now-President Trump’s recorded calls.

Napolitano wrote at the time that “By bypassing all American intelligence services, Obama would have had access to what he wanted with no Obama administration fingerprints.” This statement was cited by White Press Secretary Sean Spicer and Trump himself in later attempts to defend the President’s original claim.

In defense of his statement, Napolitano insisted that “Fox News has spoken to intelligence community members who believe that surveillance did occur, that it was done by British intelligence.” However, Fox News asserted that this was not the truth, walking back this claim on Friday through anchor Shepard Smith, who said “Fox News knows of no evidence of any kind that the now-president of the United States was surveilled at any time, in any way.”

Napolitano defended his original statements on Sunday, saying that he “reported what the sources told me, reported it accurately and I do believe the substance of what they told me.” Fox News did not respond to requests for comment from the Los Angeles Times.

That’s a shame, but obviously justified. The Judge just apparently got out ahead of his skiis, and heard what he wanted to hear. And now, when we’ve got a President who makes world-wide pronouncements and accusations, based on what he hears one reporter say, on one network, FOX has to be double-careful.

    • Selene Sanchez

Of course that what it is, it wouldn’t have anything to do with the fact that one FOX news largely supports establishment republicans, establishment hates Trump so they aren’t really gonna give him much support and establishment hates liberty minded republicans such as the Judge so they are baisically using one stone for two birds here. But let’s take FOX word for it instead… they are such a trust worthy news org. ????

      • OnceAMule

Well. Selene. In the first place, the FOX news channel basically carried TheDonald, for two years, from the time he started hinting about becoming a candidate, until he was elected. He had a full-time gig on Fox and Friends, on Hannity, and could call in to any host he wanted to, with the exception of Chris Wallace. Any suggestion that FOX is for the “establishment”, and against Trump is just silly.

Secondly, if we’re going to be honest — and we’d better learn to be, we’d better be willing to admit when someone on our side . . . in this case, the Judge . . . makes a mistake. And he made a big one. And our President has determined that he’d rather listen to a TV news-talker than he would, his national security people, and the CIA and the FBI. He’s going to be in for a lot of big problems if he keeps that up.

No one took Donald very seriously when he was running and once he was the nominee they were all committed to support him. Were they really gonna abort ship now. Their people had spoken. Donald was in. And YES lets be honest. Mistakes happen i get that. BUT there are two things that come to mind. One there is no proof without out a doubt yet about anything. Nap says FOX had intel Fox denies it. I choose to believe Nap you choose to take FOX’s word. Nap never said that He was indeed wire tapped only that FOX had received intel. Secondly, Trump hasn’t been all to friendly to the national security experts he is supposed to trust he has kinda been bumping heads with them and they don’t like him. Not to mention the times in which the CIA and FBI have been caught in lies. It should all be taken with a grain on salt. IT’s very possible Judge Nap made a mistake no one is perfect, but taking the record of all parties involved here. I am more likely to believe the Judge than FOX and the others. I don’t understand why people are having such a hard time believing that Obama would have wired tapped Donald anyhow, was no one paying attention with Snowden.

  • WhatMeWorry

Obama wiretapped America. Why do you think Swodden is living in another country?

    • Ron Helton

Exactly. Snowden said that they were collecting all of our communications data. At this point, what does it matter which group is doing the collecting.

To get the truth there are only two lawyers that I trust. The Judge for one and Trey Gowdy the second……the rest involved are paid mouthpieces. Figures Fox would finally take a payoff. Instead of dumping that arrogant Shep they let the Judge go…I watched some of the committee hearing yesterday on surveylance.
It was disgusting. So many lies Comey should have fired for malfeasance long ago..Sen Schiff…the very rich D liberal assumes and lies through his teeth. I suppose is loved by the CA fruits and nuts. What would you call it if you found the democrats on that committee and Comey et al laying on the bottom of the ocean. A good start!!!!!

Good job you told me not to start a white riot. I had already put on my heels and grabbed my umberella and was headed for the door. What do we want – Judge Napolitano to report on Fox News – When do we want it – Now!
