When you can get Al Franken and the Koch brothers working together, you might have a real issue on your hands.  Not only will major-party candidates not address the issue of how innocent people might end up in prison, they also do not seem much to care about how many are in prison (about 2.3 million) and the long-term impact on society that the situation creates.

Hillary Clinton can’t discuss the issue because she doesn’t want to remind anyone about Bill Clinton’s crime bill that dramatically increased the prison population. Donald Trump can’t discuss the issue because he walks lockstep with America’s Toughest Sheriff, Joe Arpaio. Trump, after all, wants to be the “Law and Order President.”
