LISTEN TO TLR’S LATEST PODCAST:

By Kody Fairfield

With legislators either passing overreaching programs that put bureaucrats between the doctor/patient relationship, and a burden of cost which has become soul crushing, the world of healthcare in the United States seems to be a completely uncontrollable disaster. In Obamacare, Democrats force fed Americans a bill which though it covered most citizens, it coercively forced people into the marketplace, put bureaucrats between doctors and patients, and had premium costs which seemingly continued to climb to new heights. In the Republicans, who have spent the good part of one’s memory spinelessly whining about repeal and replacement, but when they finally came to power, they served up a lifeless bill which was so bad that some have called it “Obamacare-lite.”

So what are the real free-market alternative options?

Well The Libertarian Republic took a look at one potential idea that has been growing, and the results have been pretty incredible.

Meet AtlasMD out of Wichita, KS, a direct primary care physician service (DPC). Run by doctors Josh Umbehr and Doug Nunamaker, AtlasMD is revolutionizing healthcare one transparent and affordable transaction at a time.

The Libertarian Republic’s Editor-in-Chief Kody Fairfield sat down with Dr. Umbehr to discuss his company, and everything surrounding the healthcare debacle as it sits.

Brief Explaination of AtlasMD:

What is a DPC?  A DPC  is a model of healthcare that puts patients first by getting rid of the red tape by which most other traditional practices are restricted.

What is AtlasMD? Atlas MD is Wichita’s first Direct Care practice. We offer a pattern of family healthcare that is immediate, thorough, comprehensive, specific, easily affordable, and very, very personal.

What Makes AtlasMD standout?

One of the biggest (and most important) differences you’ll find between us, a Direct Care practice, and other traditional family practices is the number of patients we see.

Most family docs in Kansas routinely include 2,500 patients or more in their practices. Others around the country are even more packed— 3,000 to 4,000 patients!

With Atlas MD, you’ll be part of an intimate family practice where each physician sees hundreds of patients compared to thousands. With this solid foundation, the advantages are inevitable and plentiful.

As a member of Atlas MD, you’ll have access to the following:

Unlimited access to your doctor.
Literally. After hours, weekends, holidays – there’s no bad time to receive excellent medical care.

Extended, relaxed visits.
You won’t feel rushed through an appointment and there’s never a question you won’t have time to ask. Part of the relationship you’ll build with your doctor is based on your understanding of your care. That’s what we call personal healthcare.

Same-day and next-day service scheduling.
Because our physicians have reserved their time for a select few, there will be no “squeezing you in.” You’re a priority and you’ll feel like one.

House calls.
We understand there may be times when making it into our office can be challenging and a home visit would be more beneficial… in these circumstances, our docs or nurses will come to you.

Full access via technology.
You’ll be able to reach our team via phone, e-mail, text, webcam and more. The sky is the limit.

An annual physical.
This exam will be fitted to your personal medical needs. It’s all about you and your specific wellness goals.

Diagnostic and procedural benefits at no extra costs.
EKG, Holter Monitor, DEXA Scan, Body Fat Analysis, Spirometry, Breathing Treatments, Cryotherapy, Lesion Removal, Laceration Repair, just to name a few.

Wholesale labs and medication costs.
We pass our benefits right to you.

Transparency.
As partners in your general wellness, we’re fully invested in your healthcare goals. Which is why we offer complete transparency into our practice, billing and communication processes.
