A new children’s book will feature Santa Claus as a gay, black man with a white husband, according to a Wednesday reports.
The picture book, titled “Santa’s Husband,” describes Santa’s relationship with his gay husband, reports Heat Street.
According to the story line, both of them live in the North Pole together, and Santa’s white husband tries to help him by working as a Santa Claus at the mall. Artwork for the book features Santa and his husband gazing into each other’s eyes.

Author Daniel Kibblesmith came up with the idea after deciding that he and his wife would tell their children that Santa Claus is black. Kibblesmith is also a staff writer for “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.”
“If they see a white one, we’ll say ‘That’s his husband,’” Kibblesmith tweeted in December.

Harper Design, the book’s publisher, said the book is for everyone of all ages and will be released Oct. 10.
The Mall of America recently featured a black Santa Claus for the first time in its 24 year history. (RELATED:America’s Biggest Mall Gets Its First Black Santa)
“What they see most of the time is this red suit and candy,” Larry Jefferson, the black Santa said. “[Santa represents] a good spirit. I’m just a messenger to bring hope, love and peace to girls and boys.”
