SAN ANTONIO – A carjacker got more than he bargained for on Thursday when he leapt into Lucia Lozada’s car and sped away. The thief stole the car as the Lozada family prepared to leave for church. Lozada’s twin 7-year-old sons and a 1-year-old were buckled into the car.

“She realized that she had forgotten the baby bottle, walked back in the house. When she came back out the car was gone,” said police chief William McManus.

The twins then attacked the carjacker. “One of the boys was punching the man in the face; the other was hitting him with a rubber snake,” Sgt. Javier Salazar told ABC News.

The man eventually pulled over and released the children. Salazar says the boys had been taught not to speak to strangers, “but they saw a little girl outside one of the houses, and they felt safe talking to her.”
