Whoopi Goldberg Angry Over Photoshopped Shirt, and Rightfully So!
LISTEN TO TLR’S LATEST PODCAST:
Typically, “The View” hostess and former comedienne Whoopi Goldberg is criticized for celebrating authority and pushing for legislative morality, but not today.
See, Goldberg was on the warpath on Tuesday calling out whoever altered a photograph of her wearing a shirt that showed President Donald Trump shooting himself in the head, reports TeaParty.org.
In this video, you can clearly see the real shirt which Goldberg was wearing at the Women’s March rally over the weekend. It reads, “And you thought I was a nasty woman before? Buckle up, buttercup.”
Unfortunately for Goldberg, who is vehemently anti-Trump, someone took to the computer to polarize and up the vitriol toward the comedienne by photoshopping a much more aggressive and controversial image onto her shirt. Then the con artist circulated their new image, pretending that it was real thing.
GRAPHIC CONTENT WARNING:
Goldberg, after seeing the altered image, had a fiery and quite frankly reasonable response.
“Speaking of smoke and mirrors and lies, I need to clear up a lie that was posted online this morning,” she said during the “Hot Topics” segment on ABC’s “The View. “A photo of me at the Women’s March has been photoshopped to show me wearing an offensive shirt against you-know-who. Even though I don’t care for this man, I would never wear the shirt that’s there.”
“I’m just gonna say this,” Goldberg said. “You know what, if you feel like that, if you feel like the sentiments on that [tiled for TV] shirt, grow a pair, and you wear it. But don’t put it on me because you think it’s easier, because, quite honestly, I’ll tell you how I feel.”
“Every day, half of the country despises me, half of the country loves me,” Goldberg, who espouses an anti-President Trump sentiment daily, said. “But you know what? I stand up. You see my face. Don’t put stuff on me that I haven’t done. Don’t do it.”
WATCH:
These tactics, against anyone right, left or of any political direction, denigrate and destroy any real ability to change hearts and minds toward any ideology. We can agree to disagree, but lies and smears should be called out on both sides. Debate the issues, don’t create them.
