7. We’re on course to defeat poverty
At this rate, acute poverty should be mostly eliminated by 2030. The UN expects that by then only the most undeveloped regions will still be suffering extreme poverty. But those pockets would see benefits as well, and slowly be lifted up. The standard of living for the rest of the world should continue to climb, as well. Such is the benefit of free market trade and production. We can honestly expect to see extreme poverty nearly eliminated in our lifetimes. And perhaps our children will see the elimination of poverty all together. The prospect is amazing, but it is no surprise to those who study economics. More capital created means goods and services for the world, and that’s a good thing.
