Well, it looks as if it has finally happened, everyday politics has finally turned into an awful reality TV show. Capitol Hill has finally earned enough fanfare that it is earning viewing parties, an accolade often saved for shows like “The Bachelor/Bachelorette,” or “Survivor.”
D.C. restaurant and bar Shaw’s Tavern, is hosting a watch party for former FBI Director James Comey’s hearing in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee Thursday. The event will be complete with food and drink specials, reports WJLA.
Comey’s testimony will be in regards to Russia’s efforts to influence the 2016 presidential election. There are even rumors that the former FBI head will testify to the committee that President Donald Trump intended to stifle the organizations investigation into former national security advisor Gen. Mike Flynn.
The event, which was posted by the bar on Facebook, explains that the eatery will open at 9:30 AM EST, and that all fives TV’s will be airing the proceedings with sound.
Come on… you know you want to watch the drama unfold this Thursday. We will be opening early at Shaw’s Tavern at 9:30am and the hearing starts at 10am on all 5 tv’s with sound.
We will feature $5 Stoli Vodka flavors and our “FBI” sandwich (our take on a BLT – simply for the abbreviation 🙂 Fried Chicken Breast, Bacon and Iceburg Lettuce on a toasted bun with fries) for $10.
