NEW YORK – An employee at a Long Island deli chased off a masked gunman with a machete. The robber entered the store on September 25 and fired a shot as he was demanding the man empty the register. The deli worker then pulled a two foot long machete from  under the counter out of its black sheath. That’s when things got a little crazy.

The surveillance video shows how the employee turned the tables on the thief who fled the slashing strikes from his edged weapon. The robber escaped unharmed but police are still looking for clues to track the masked gunman.
