House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi called on President Trump to fire White House press secretary Sean Spicer, hours after Spicer’s flubbed a comment on Syrian President Bashar Assad, claiming Hitler “didn’t even sink to using chemical weapons,” says the Washington Examiner. “While Jewish families across America celebrate Passover, the chief spokesman of this White House is downplaying the horror of the Holocaust,” Pelosi, D-Calif., said in a statement. “Sean Spicer must be fired, and the President must immediately disavow his spokesman’s statements. Either he is speaking for the President, or the President should have known better than to hire him.”

Spicer was immediately criticized for the remark, which ignored Hitler’s use of Zyklon B, an insecticide, to kill millions of Jews in gas chambers, reported the Examiner.

Spicer did respond to the criticisms saying, “I think when you come to sarin gas, he was not using the gas on his own people the same way that Assad is doing.”
