Dear Mr. Hannity,
For years, I looked to you and your political commentary as enlightening, provocative, and entertaining. Even as I became a libertarian and began to disagree with you on philosophy and policy, I still respected you as a principled, conservative commentator who said what he meant and meant what he said.
I couldn’t have been more wrong.
This election cycle has proven you to be nothing more than a political opportunist. Do you remember back when you used to proclaim your distaste for the Republican establishment, as they were weak moderates who were simply RINOs? Do you remember when you used to promote tried and true conservatives as the future of the Republican Party? Do you remember who you used to even be?
Sean, you have gone to war with your former allies, be it Glenn Beck or others, because they, unlike you, are standing on principle. Your entire argument is based entirely on the fallacy that one can “trust” Donald Trump to be better than Hillary Clinton in his supposed conservative promises. And yet when anyone dares question you, you begin hurling insults blaming them for “supporting Hillary Clinton” and now having to “own every single thing she does.”
And now you take your destructive rhetoric against your own colleague in Megyn Kelly?
“U should be mad at @HillaryClinton,” you tweeted. “Clearly you support her. And @realDonaldTrump did talk to u.”
And what caused your little pity-party outburst on Twitter?
Kelly: “Donald Trump, with all due respect to my friend at 10 o’clock, will go on Hannity, and pretty much only Hannity, and will not venture out to the unsafe spaces these days, which doesn’t exactly expand the tent.”
Now, Sean. Please answer me, and answer me truthfully: Are you more upset that Kelly is being objectively honest regarding Trump and his inability to appear on shows other than yours, or is it that someone dare to question the man-boy-God-king that you have sworn your allegiance to, come Hell or high water?
You see, Sean, you have done Ms. Kelly a great deal of service, as you have in effect proven the very point she was trying to make. You, like Trump, cannot subject yourself to any form of criticism nor alternative ideas. The moment someone dare make a statement that you or Trump don’t like, you don’t refute the statement, but engage in ad hominem attacks against them.
The reality, Mr. Hannity, is that you have proven to be nothing more than an opportunist who will promote faux principles so long as those positions give you ratings. I have no doubt your ratings have increased, and I have no doubt their increase is due mostly in part to your constant pandering to the Trump crowd and your seemingly nightly, wall-to-wall coverage of Trump.
And in all reality, Sean, I think your lashing out against those dissenting voices fits quite well with my belief that you know full well Trump is likely to lose. Sure, he may win, and if he does, I wish him nothing but the best. But you, along with several other commentators, propped up Trump, excused Trump, and became daily advertisements for Trump throughout the entire GOP primaries. Instead of being intellectually honest in critiquing Trump and his past statements and actions, you “took him at his word,” and sacrificed any principles you claimed to have had in the name of ratings.
Come November 9, I fully expect either of the following to occur:
a. You will be singing Trump’s praises as the champion of “conservatism” while proudly stating, “See? We didn’t even need you Never Trump, ‘establishment’ hacks to win!”

b. You will be condemning, attacking, and making it your goal to destroy ever single person who stood on principle and didn’t support the faux conservative-Republican Trump, stating, “It’s all your faults that Hillary was elected! You own everything she does!”
You have become entirely predictable, Sean. Because it is quite obvious that you will sing any tune that fits the tenor of the moment. But let it be known; while you clamor to your opportunist positions, those who have stood firm on principle will remember, and while we may forgive, we will not forget.
