WATCH: Trump Lavishes Praise On Clintons, Calls Obama “Inspirational”

by Kody Fairfield

Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump who regularly attacks his opponent, Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, her husband former President Bill Clinton, and current President Barack Obama, may have a bit of explaining to do to his base.

In an interview from 2008 with NY-1, Trump is heard singing the praises of both Clintons.

“I think Bill Clinton was a great president.”

“You know, you look at the country then. The economy was doing great. Look at what happened during the Clinton years. I mean we had no war, the economy was doing great, everybody was happy. A lot of people hated him because they were jealous as hell.”

On Hillary, Trump said,

“I think she is going to go down at a minimum as a great senator. I think she is a great wife to a president.”

Another clip shows Trump talking about former President George W. Bush, calling him “evil,” and transitioning to President Obama calling him “inspirational.”

It seems odd to think about how drastically different Trump’s rhetoric on the Clintons and Obama has changed in only 8 years, especially given the Wikileaks documents that call Trump the Clinton campaign’s preferred “pied piper” candidate for the Republicans. Was it simply the (R) by his name that changed his feelings, or was it an honest change based on her overwhelming attachment to scandal? Could it all a giant ruse? Ultimately, this is the question the American populace will have to decide.
