Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin appeared on CNN to discuss appearances, sexism, Hillary Clinton and Chris Christie. Host Jake Tapper questioned Palin about whether Clinton and Christie were every mistreated due to their appearances. Palin responded that Clinton had to deal with “petty, superficial things that men don’t ever seem to hear much about, but a woman candidate will.” She also remarked that Christie is a special case though, saying his appearance is so extreme that it’s hard for some people not to comment on it.

Governor Palin also spoke about Pope Francis, exclaiming that she couldn’t believe some of the things he has expressed. “He’s had some statements that to me sound kind of liberal, has taken me aback, has kind of surprised me,” Palin said. “Unless I really dig deep into what his messaging is, and do my own homework, I’m not going to just trust what I hear in the media.”
