Restaurant Offers Ladies Discount for Short Skirts

By: Laura Meyers

Thing just got hotter at Yang Jia Hot Pot, Chinese restaurant in Jinan. In an attempt to increase sales, Hot Pot recently ran a special promotion offering discounts to female customers based on the length of their skirts. The shorter the skirt, the bigger the discount. Skirt length is measured upon arrival, and a discount is given accordingly.

I presume the doorman in charge of measuring skirt length has yet to complain about his wage since the job reassignment.

The promotion brought women flocking to the restaurant for discounted food.

“We wanted to do a promotion on our hotpot and we came up with this. Girls like showing off their legs and now they can get more than just admiring glances from passersby – they can get cheap food too,” said a spokesman from the restaurant.

As if on cue, the restaurant has received criticism for being sexist on social media. One post by AnTsai reads, “I have long, beautiful legs but I will be damned if I am going to let some strange man measure my skirt length for a crappy hotpot #outraged.”

Well then, I hope you enjoy your full priced hotpot, AnTsai.

The highest hemline was recorded at 13 inches above the knee, attracting a 90 percent discount. The lowest was at three inches, earning a 20 percent saving.

So, ladies, if you can’t get free pizza from Tinder, you could always try Hot Pot and a miniskirt?
