President Barack Obama’s Website Was Just Hacked by Syrian Electronic Army

President’s Fundraising Site Compromised

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A page on President Barack Obama’s website was just hacked by an organization calling themselves “SEA”. The page is from his donation site donate.barackobama.com, which temporarily redirected to the website of the hacking group “Syrian Electronic Army”.

The SEA is a collection of computer hackers aligned with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. They conduct denial of service attacks, such as the one currently underway against the President of the United States. The exact relationship of SEA to Assad is unknown at this time.

The SEA once defaced the New York Post’s Facebook page and published pictures of American servicemen saying they opposed a U.S. attack on Syria. They increased their activity when there was a threat that the President might attack Assad.

Saudi Arabia has recently threatened the U.S. over our failure to bomb Syria and crush protesters in Bahrain.
