Halloween Costume Shops Are Toy Gun Shy This Year. (VIDEO)

The Anti-Gun Culture Rears Its Ugly Head

Holiday costume outlets are being extra careful with their toy guns this year. And they ought to be. The do-gooder bureaucrats and anti-gun lobby are out in full force across the nation trying to evangelize our children on the evils of guns. But it’s not just real guns they’re after.

It’s toy guns, replicas and airsoft guns too.

“Anything that is going to be part of a costume is going to have those plastic orange tips,” costumer Juan Madera said. “You know, a safety issue,” said Madera. “We don’t anyone to misconcept (sic) that it’s an actual gun by spray painting it or anything like that.”

When Did We Become So Afraid Of Guns?

Part of our mission at The Libertarian Republic is to help convince the American public of the necessity of the right to keep and bear arms. When legislators and bureaucrats try to enact toy gun bans, they are perpetuating a culture of fear. That culture of fear is what results in kids getting shot. The Greatest Generation never had to worry that if they sent their kids into the fields with a BB gun that they might end up dead.

That’s why we at The Libertarian Republic held a toy gun march for charity this year, and are considering it again for 2014. We think it’s important for people to not be afraid of guns, and we’re willing to put boots on the ground to do it! TLR raised over $1200 for Toys for Toys, and made a big impact in the media about why America is a gun culture and the demonization of guns and toy guns is wrong.
