#YangGang Over the Moon as Elon Musk Tweets Support for Andrew Yang

Twitter erupted Saturday afternoon with the news that Elon Musk, founder and CEO of Space-X and Tesla, seemingly endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang.

It all started when Yang tweeted that he was open to having his mind changed if data could be presented that proved an opposing viewpoint to be true.

“I don’t expect people to agree with me on everything- that would be odd. My main hope is that people trust that I’m trying to solve problems and I’m open to different approaches – particularly if the data drives in a particular direction. Changing one’s mind is not a bad thing,” Yang tweeted Saturday.

Yang’s objective statement caught the attention of the Tesla CEO when Dan Carlin of Hardcore History retweeted it.

“How weird that this should be a somewhat novel thing to say,” Carlin said in his caption to Yang’s tweet.

Things busted wide open when Musk showed up in Carlin’s Twitter feed announcing he supported Andrew Yang.

Yang responded to Musk saying his endorsement meant a great deal to him and congratulated Mr. Musk on “building the future.”

Business Insider reported that Musk agrees with Yang’s universal basic income policy and suggests that the CEO of Tesla likes Yang because his company relies heavily on the automation process.

Musk continued to expand on his support of Yang, saying it would be cool for America to have its first Goth Commander-in-Chief.

“He would our first openly goth president. I think this is very important”, Elon tweeted.

Twitter users have gone wild with the creator of Tesla becoming part of the “Yang gang” causing #ElonForYang to be one of the top trending topics Saturday evening carrying over to Sunday morning with 12.3K people tweeting about the news.

With all the excitement over Elon’s endorsement of Yang, this could be just the boost Yang’s campaign needs to put him light years ahead of the other Democratic presidential candidates.
