Dog Fighting Ring Busted! Pit Bull Attacks Fleeing Suspect!

FLORENCE COUNTY, SC – Eight suspects were arrested when police discovered dog fighting going on in a vacant lot. The suspects tried to run, but were all caught. One of the suspects who was taken into custody was “taken down” by a pooch who he was forcing to fight.

One of the dogs involved was successfully captured by Environmental Services, but the pooch who smashed his attacker escaped. Police are serving more search warrants to find any other connections out there associated with the ring.

The Human Society offers a $5,000 award for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in illegal animal fighting. Their number is  877-TIP-HSUS and all identities are kept confidential.
