5 Horrific Acts Committed By ISIS (WARNING: Disturbing Images)

5. Religious Minorities Sold into Human Trafficking

The treatment of women as a form as property, whether they be sold, married off, or obtained by plunder has been seen throughout history as a commonality between different early civilizations. Yet, in the civilized west, it is still incredibly disturbing in our day and age to understand that the jihadist fighters known as ISIS are reverting the Middle East even further into a region contaminated by religious fanaticism and depravity.

Beginning in the civil war-torn state of Syria, the jihadist faction began to blaze a trail of death and violence on their way towards Iraq in order to establish a true Islamic Caliphate, a warning journalist Glenn Beck had predicted several years ago during the dawn of the Arab Spring. In order to purge the land of non-Muslims and infidels, the fighters of the Islamic State began to execute the native Yazidi population.

Apart from simply murdering the Yazidis, ISIS began to kidnap Yazidi women, who were forced into the servitude of their jihadist captors

One specific story of Yazidi slavery at the hands of ISIS entails a young girl named “Hannah” (her real name withheld for her safety) who was captured by ISIS fighters who invaded her village, and was later able to escape.

“There were 20 of them, with long beards and weapons. They said: ‘You’re coming to Mosul.’ We refused. They hit us and dragged us to their cars.”

She was taken with other women to a sports hall. Then, after a couple of weeks, to a wedding hall. In one place, there were 200 women and girls. These were slave markets. IS fighters could come to take their pick.

“We didn’t dare look at their faces. We were so afraid. One girl came back after she had been used as a sex slave and told us everything. After that, IS did not allow anyone else to return.

“They were shooting to scare us. They took whomever they wanted, by force. We were crying the whole time. We wanted to kill ourselves but we couldn’t find a way.”

One girl did manage to kill herself…

“Hannah’s” story is not uncommon, thousands of non-Muslim women have been kidnapped, where they later face forced conversions, marriage, or other despicable acts.

4. Destruction of Historical Artifacts Before the Time of Muhammad

As a form of systematic cultural genocide, ISIS militants have been destroying ancient relics, antiques, and cultural heritage sites in order to create a future absent of any evidence of any other faith contradictory to Islam ever existing.

ISIS began their path of historical eradication in early 2014 when they blew up the Tomb of the Prophet Jonah, a figure important to Judeo-Christian and Islamic culture.

ISIS did not stop there, the path of destruction has included the Assyrian city of Nimrud, Hatra, Khorsabad, and the Mosul museum and public library.

3. Execution of Muslims Refusing to Swear Allegiance

In order for the Islamic State to reinforce its control over the people of the occupied portions of Iraq and northern Syria, they have in many cases made examples of other Muslims who showed (in even slight forms) disobedience to the Caliphate. A brief UN report catalogued just a handful of instances where ISIS killed their fellow Muslims publicly:

-On September 5, ISIS executed three Sunni women in Mosul. What was their “crime”? They refused to provide medical care to ISIS fighters.
– On September 9, ISIS executed a Sunni Imam in western Mosul for refusing to swear loyalty to ISIS.
– On August 2, a man from the Salah ad Din province was abducted and beheaded for refusing to swear allegiance to ISIS.
-On August 19, a female Muslim doctor south of Mosul was killed for organizing a protest to object to ISIS’ mandate that female doctors cover their faces with religious veils when treating patients
-On August 31, 19 Sunni Muslim men were executed in Saadiya for refusing to swear allegiance to ISIS.
-On July 22, a Sunni Imam in Eastern Baquba was killed for simply denouncing ISIS.
-On September 9, ISIS executed two Muslim women by shooting them in the back of the head. Their exact “crime” was not known.

2014 reports said that 17,049 Iraqi civilians were killed by ISIS militants, recent data has shown that the jihadists have killed an average 1,500 civilians a month.

2. Bringing About the End of Days

In early 2015, twenty-one young Christian men in Libya were beheaded (on camera for the world to see) by ISIS militants.  The murder of these young men was purposely done on a beach, the importance of the location was to alert the West of the impending war over the horizon; according to Graeme Wood from the Atlantic magazine “…The Islamic State awaits the army of “Rome” [Europe and the United States] whose defeat at Dabiq, Syria, will initiate the countdown to the apocalypse” according to the Koran.

These warnings of a major, climactic battle which will bring about the end of days aren’t simply a propaganda tool in order to bring impressionable young recruits into the fold, but are in fact part of the Islamic State’s overall end goal:

These include the belief that there will be only 12 legitimate caliphs, and Baghdadi is the eighth; that the armies of Rome will mass to meet the armies of Islam in northern Syria; and that Islam’s final showdown with an anti-Messiah will occur in Jerusalem after a period of renewed Islamic conquest.

The Islamic State has attached great importance to the Syrian city of Dabiq, near Aleppo. It named its propaganda magazine after the town, and celebrated madly when (at great cost) it conquered Dabiq’s strategically unimportant plains. It is here, the Prophet reportedly said, that the armies of Rome will set up their camp. The armies of Islam will meet them, and Dabiq will be Rome’s Waterloo or its Antietam.

Continued use of social media in order to show the world their crimes is a method which is essentially being utilized to lure the United States and it’s NATO allies into exactly what the fanatics leading the Islamic State want.

1. Use of Symbolic Execution Methods

While executions held by ISIS are common, their use of specific types of execution have caused the global stage to take another at the methods utilized by the Islamic State. Public executions, while used as a form to instill fear into the local populace, have become venues to send even broader messages to world as per their true intentions.

Local Christian leader was tortured prior to his public crucifixion in the Syrian capital of Damascus.

For Christians, ISIS has warned that they must either pay protection money to local Islamic State officials, convert to Islam, or flee. For Christians who refuse, they are crucified publicly.

In order to spread the word of their inhumanity, ISIS began posting the photos of their crucifixions online and via Twitter for the world to see.  Apart from just Christians, ISIS showed the extent of their evil when they set a Jordanian pilot on fire last February, in order to show the Muslim world that if you are not with them, you are against them.
