If Everybody Hates Chris, it might be because Chris Rock is Libertarian and doesn’t know it yet!
Chris Rock is known to be politically cynical and may even be heard praising Democrats and ripping into Republicans. Rock may have even been a little too complimentary of socialist liberals at times, favoring President Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Al Gore, reportedly donating $42,100 Democratic campaigns.

An important distinction to make is that Rock’s views are not always so one-sided. In fact, some of Rock’s quotations have been ideologically consistent with resisting the idea of a ‘collective’. Here’s a list of 10 Chris Rock Quotations that sound more libertarian than liberal:
1. “Democrats are idiots. Republicans are idiots. Conservatives are idiots. Anyone that makes up their mind before they hear the issue, is a f*cking fool. Be a person. No normal, decent person is one thing. Listen first then form an opinion.”
2. “I used to work at McDonald’s making minimum wage. You know what that means when someone pays you minimum wage? You know what your boss is trying to say? It’s like ‘hey, if I could pay you less, I would, but it’s against the law.”
Rock may have unwittingly made the point that libertarians often make regarding a government mandated minimum wage. If left to the employer, the market would determine what your labor is worth and what the business owner is able to afford. If they can’t afford to pay what the government is forcing them to pay, they must resort to automated systems, or worse, dissolve the business.
3. “I don’t think we should get rid of bullying…. who’s going to cure aids? Who’s going to invent fuel that get’s us off fossil fuel? Who’s going to do these things? Some guy that was being bullied, that’s who!”
4. “They don’t want you to vote, if they did, we wouldn’t vote on Tuesday. In November. You never throw a party on a Tuesday! No. Because nobody would come.”
5. “I think it’s better to have ideas. You can change an idea, changing a belief is trickier. Life should be malleable and progressive; working from idea to idea permits that. Beliefs anchor you to certain points and limit growth; new ideas can’t generate. Life becomes stagnant.”
