WV Senate Passes Bill Recognizing Right to Concealed Carry Without License

Senate Bill 347, a piece of state legislation in West Virginia that would recognize citizens’ innate rights to carry firearms without a license, passed the state Senate last week.  This is resounding news, as the rationale for such a bill is the strict delineation of the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States.  The bill itself was passed with only two votes opposed (both Democrats).

However, it currently isn’t over.  The bill, having been introduced in the Senate, now must be passed by the WV House when it gets heard on the morning of March 5th.  Unfortunately, plenty of propaganda against the bill has been hurled its way by – you’ve been paying attention – the local law enforcement.  Among the lies being told is the claim that the state of WV will no longer provide out-of-state-recognized concealed carry permits for the purpose of travel to neighboring states.

Another false postulation is that law enforcement officers themselves will be danger of the bill is passed and implemented.  Considering the fact that this piece of freedom-loving legislation has the WV police scared enough to lie in an attempt to kill it is precisely the biggest reason why every WV citizen, and we onlookers, should cheer on this bill and raise as much awareness as we can so that the voices and voters sway the House to make the right decision:

Pass the damn bill.

Sincerely,

A Former West Virginian.
