Glenn Greenwald, civil libertarian journalist takes on Ari Fleischer, former Press Secretary for George W. Bush over the recent revelations about the NSA’s domestic spying program. Greenwald claims that “government is operating in the dark”, while Fleischer defended the program saying that we have accepted the loss of civil liberties at airports, so why not our phones?
Fleischer: “I think the president’s program is a good one. I’m proud on this one to defend President Obama because I think he’s continuing those policies that have kept us safe.”
Greenwald: “This is a government full of Ari Fleischer’s who can go before the world and spew falsehoods. When government officials operate in secret, they abuse their power.”
