Government shut down. Debt ceiling looms. President refuses to negotiate. Rand Paul is here.

“Only 15% of the government is actually shut down.”

Anyone miss it?

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) appeared on CNN with Erin Burnett on Wednesday to discuss the government shutdown. Senator Paul claims that the president will not come and negotiate over the issue of funding the government with concessions to Republicans on Obamacare.

Paul was challenged when asked why he would not accept a deal where Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) offered a spending cap of $988 billion dollars. Is Obamacare a bit of an obsession? The Kentucky senator remarked that we wouldn’t have these problems if the senate actually did its job and passed a budget.
