You’re Now Free To Open Carry In Kansas

The state of Kansas today has a new gun law that goes into effect which allows citizens to open carry guns in public. The new law makes it so that Kansans will be able to carry a gun in a sling, holster or even in their hand.

Kansas Police will still respond to reports of people with guns, but they will handle the calls differently. Fox 4 KC spoke to Captain Rance Quinn with the Kansas City Police Department and he said that the police, “may make a consensual interaction with the person, ‘Like hey, how are you doing today. I see that you are exercising your right to bear firearms. Is there anything I can do for you today?’ Or something along those lines.”

The state currently has issued around 90,000 permits for concealed carry.
