You’d have to kill the president of the Hawaii Police Union to pass gay marriage (VIDEO)

Anyone interested in granting his wish?

HONOLULU, HI – The president of the Hawaii police union expressed anger that his state would pass a law that legalizes same sex marriages. In a speech at the state House Tenari Maafala said, “The bottom line is this, the day I retire and bills like this are introduced, I will never ever honor such law,” he said. “You will have to kill me to dishonor my father in heaven, you would have to kill me to impose these types of laws upon my children, and my nieces and my nephews.”

Maafala claimed that “denying gay couples the right to marry is not discrimination if it’s against your beliefs.”

I hold beliefs that are very important to me, beliefs I would probably never compromise, they guide my life and affect every single aspect of it. One of my beliefs is that I should be free to choose what is right for me, that I should never have the will of another imposed on me, and that I should never be forced to do anything I didn’t choose to do. Whether I agree with gay marriage or not, should not dictate whether or not gay people can marry. I have the power of my vote, as do all citizens. If a majority of voters feel that gay marriage should be legal – it should be legal. Its that simple. You are not hurting me, or anyone else.

And if the will of the majority is to round people up and put them into death camps, to force vaccination on all kids, to force all kids to got to public schools? Marriage has never been a civil right, but the freedom to believe in god, or practice your religious belief is, under the Bill of Rights to the US Constitution.

Ok, so someone obviously failed reading comprehension – let me go ahead and address your unfounded and asinine points. First though let say how idiotic it is that you would try to compare gay marriage to death camps. That said – you stated “And if the will of the majority is to round people up and put them into
death camps, to force vaccination on all kids, to force all kids to got
to public schools?” in my comment i clearly said : A “You are not hurting me, or anyone else.” which, clearly, emphasizes that I’m okay with you doing what you wish as long as it doesn’t harm me or anyone else. What also would fall under that is my statement of ” One of my beliefs is that I should be free to choose what is right for
me, that I should never have the will of another imposed on me, and that
I should never be forced to do anything I didn’t choose to do.” The basis of rights boils down to the choices and freedoms you enjoy for yourself. And to say marriage doesn’t fall under “Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” (which is guaranteed you) is incorrect.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Making laws about forcing things upon other people is not comparable to making laws that give people more individual rights that affect nobody else. You are free to practice your religious belief, however others don’t necessarily hold those beliefs and should be free from your imposition. Keeping gay marriage illegal is, however, comparable to “forcing vaccination on kids” and “forcing kids to go to public schools”, because you’re forcing people to live in a certain lifestyle.

Sorry, slippery slope argument there buddy. If you are not able to make a rational argument like an adult , maybe you might want to take your ball and go home.

Voting should have nothing to do with it. Unless I want to marry my first cousin – and even then, in the case of a same sex marriage – it affects nobody else.

I now have faith in a Police Union in some state. I have come close to supporting gay marriage, but between Dan Savage and group of gay men harrassing and insulting a old man reading his Bible outside Chick fila with absolute Glee. That destroyed any chance of me supporting groups or people that.

Then maybe a libertarian website isn’t for you. This guy says ““denying gay couples the right to marry is not discrimination if it’s against your beliefs.” Um… is that the same for black people? Black people marrying White people?

Perhaps you shouldn’t be trolling Libertarian websites. If you think that gangs of married homosexuals are going to terrorize old men, well, it’s just not that likely. It’s unmarried men in any group that are troublemakers. Once same sex marriage is universal there should be a tax on bachelors, maybe. Too much liberty is a bad thing!

Haha. Typical collectivist mentality. I don’t think this site is for you.

Ugh. This would’ve been a decent article except for the, “Anyone interested in granting his wish?” portion. As an ardent supporter of equality for everyone, I find a remark like this disgusting. This guy was an asshole but you just gave him the moral high ground with that line. Get some class.

Are they trying to force his children to gay marry?

Austin Green November 8, 2013 at 12:58 am

I don’t care if gay people get married. I know my church (the LDS church) would never marry a gay couple. But if a gay couple can find a church to marry them fine. why not?
