Woman killed near U.S. Capitol is identified (PICTURES, VIDEO)

34-year-old Stamford woman Miriam Carey

NBC news has reported that a 34-year-old dental hygenist known as Miriam Carey is dead after ramming barricades outside the White House today. Secret Service shot Carey after she ran over an officer.

She was traveling with a little girl who was unharmed. Carey is reportedly from Connecticut and the incident is believed to be isolated with no relation to terrorism.

Carey was unarmed.
