White Woman Gets OWNED For Pretending To Be Black Leader

By: Laura Meyers

The president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) chapter in Spokane, Washington is under fire from accusations that she has lied about being black.

She’s also lied about who her parents are, her “son/s,” and claiming she was born in a teepee.

The controversy was exposed when Rachel Dolezal walked off camera during an interview when asked if the black man she claimed was her truly was her birth parent, and when asked if she herself was African-American, she said she didn’t “understand the question” and hid inside a store until the reporters left.
Dolezal’s parents (both white) have also recently spoken out against their daughter’s actions, describing how she began “disguising” herself about 9 years ago.
Dolezal’s parents have denied their daughter’s claims that the son(s) and father she says are her own, in the pictures below. The young men in the photos are actually her brothers that were adopted as infants by her parents.

Dolezal has also told journalists on several accounts that she was born in a teepee and scavenged for own food with bows and arrows as a kid. The detail appeared in 2012 in a profile for Spokane Coeur d’Alene Living magazine and several times in interviews and features published by Eastern Washington University’s student newspaper.

That is totally false,” Dolezal’s mother, Ruthanne Dolezal, said.

Ruthanna said she and Dolezal’s father, Larry Dolezal, lived in a teepee for a while in 1974, when they were first married and three years before Dolezal was born.

“That was the end of living in the teepee,” Ruthanne said.

Deolezal has used her fake identity as leverage and has filed nine hate crime charges.

She has reported several racially charged letters and suspicious packages, as well as a claim that a white supremacy group that was “intimidated by her female power” left nooses inside her home and stole from her.

In November 2013 she made a post about seeing “12 Years a Slave” in theaters:

Dolezal had a vague response to the situation after being approached about the scandal by Seattle Times:

Dolezal, 37, avoided answering questions directly about her race and ethnicity Thursday, saying, “I feel like I owe [the NAACP] executive committee a conversation” before engaging in a broader discussion with the community about what she described as a “multi-layered” issue.

“That question is not as easy as it seems,” she said after being contacted at Eastern Washington University, where she’s a part-time professor in the Africana Studies Program. “There’s a lot of complexities … and I don’t know that everyone would understand that.”

Later, in an apparent reference to studies tracing the scientific origins of human life to Africa, Dolezal added: “We’re all from the African continent.”

Mayor of Spokane David Condon and City Council President Ben Stuckart said in a joint statement that an investigation had been launched.

“We are committed to independent citizen oversight and take very seriously the concerns raised regarding the chair of the independent citizen police ombudsman commission,” they said.

Several points have been raised surrounding the case comparing Dolezal’s identification to gender identity issues.

One commenter on Gawker asks, “If a man can say that he identifies as a woman and we all respect and accept it, why can’t a white person say they identify as black?”
