Marijuana Bill Stalls in Vermont

Things started off so promising: the Vermont Senate passed a recreational marijuana legalization bill that the state’s governor approved of; fast forward to last week when a Vermont House Committee shredded the measure, setting up a possible showdown within the state legislature.

The legalization bill itself wasn’t all that great to begin with (no home growing, no legal edibles). But when the state House Judiciary Committee was done with it, all that was left was the creation of a commission to study cannabis legalization.

This is yet another case of cautious and ignorant politicians screwing over cannabis consumers and even non-users in their state with their inability to make a common sense decision. A legal marijuana industry? Jobs? Economic activity? Capital investment?
