Last night a meteoroid exploded over the skies of Ohio. According to Space Weather, the meteor was traveling at 114,000 mph when it hit the Earth’s atmosphere. It was captured on NASA’s camera and was reportedly visible from at least 14 US states.
Thankfully it blew up before it could get farther into our atmosphere. This reminds us of an incident from Russia where a meteor successfully entered Earth’s atmosphere and exploded back in February. The explosion released the energy equivalent of 460 kilotons of TNT, or 30 Hiroshima bombs.
