Meet the Sikorsky S-97 Raider, the United States Army’s newest helicopter. Unlike conventional helicopters that must be designed for either vertical or horizontal speed capabilities, the S-97 Raider was designed to excel at both, making it incredibly advanced. Sikorsky’s 2010 prototype even broke the speed record for helicopters. This is an impressive war machine and an amazing feat of American engineering.
The Army is set to debut their new toy at the Association of the United States Army Exposition on October 12th. Watch the video below as the S-97 Raider takes its first flight.
