Video Shows Bus Driver Saving Suicidal Woman!

 They call him “Big Country”

BUFFALO, NY – Darnell Barton was driving his normal route along the Scajaquada Expressway when all of a sudden he saw a woman walking along the outside rail of the bridge. He stopped his vehicle, parked next to her and opened his door. “Ma’am are you OK?” he asked.

The woman didn’t react.

As he approached, she still didn’t react. When he finally was close enough he wrapped his huge arms all the way around her. The man known as “Big Country” held her tight.

She seemed totally disconnected. He said, “I grabbed her arm and put my arm around her and said ‘Do you want to come on this side of the guardrail?’, and that was actually the first time she spoke to me she said yes.”

He then lifted her over and sat with her, comforting her for a while. When officers and a counselor arrived they took over so Barton could get back to work. “It was meant to be,” Barton said. “I was supposed to be there for her at that moment and I was. I wanted to convey that whatever it was, I’m going to help you through and it’s not as serious as jumping onto the 198.”
