UFC Fighter Yoel Romero may have lost a big portion of his fan base after going on an anti-gay rant wearing a John 3:16 headband the other night. The fighter is already apologizing, saying his comments were a “misunderstanding,” and that he just wanted to thank the US for the “American Dream.”

“Wow. My friends, I want to say something. I’ll try English. Hey UFC. Hey Miami. Hey Florida. Listen people, listen!” Romero said while wearing a John 3:16 headband. “What happened to you, USA? What happened to you? What’s going on, you forget that the best in the best of the world, the name is Jesus Christ?”
“What happened to you?! Wake up USA! Go back. Go! Go for Jesus, no for gay Jesus!”
Romero apparently misjudged the audience for UFC, considering that the type of sport he engages in, where sweaty, nearly naked men, pummel, grasp and grope one another, give each other blow after blow. How could you be so ignorant as to not expect that a large portion of the audience is watching simply for the blatant homoeroticism? Oh well. Here are the dumb remarks below.
