Trump Considering Ted Cruz For Attorney General

Now that the election has been decided, and a new presidential administration begins construction, rumors are swirling about who President-elect Donald Trump will appoint to fill out his cabinet.

The latest rumor is in regards to one of Trump’s rivals for the GOP nomination, Senator Ted Cruz of Texas. It is being reported by Bloomberg that Trump is looking to tap Cruz, the former Solicitor General of Texas, as the next Attorney General of the United States.

It was reported to Bloomberg by an unnamed source familiar with the situation that Cruz was at Trump Tower on Tuesday to discuss the job. When he exited the building, he was approached by reporters, but the only response he gave was that this election was a “mandate” for change but would not address his potentially being considered for Attorney General.

His face-to-face meeting with Trump is a far cry from their contentious battle as the last two men standing for the nomination of the GOP for president. At one point, Trump was calling Cruz, “Lyin’ Ted.” The Texas Senator initially refused to endorse the Republican nominee at the GOP Convention in Cleveland before ultimately stating that he would support Trump.
