Trump Demands Safe Space & Apologies After Pence is Booed at Theater

by Josh Guckert

On Friday night, Vice President-elect Mike Pence attended a showing of Hamilton in New York City on Friday night. However, the reception he found from theater-goers was not the warmest, as many booed him. At the end of the musical, the cast issued a message to him, stating that:

We, sir — we — are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights. We truly hope that this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and to work on behalf of all of us.

President-elect Donald Trump did not take kindly to these remarks, going on Twitter and calling it “harassment.”

He went on in a later tweet to state that the theater is supposed to be a “safe and special place” and that the cast of Hamilton should apologize:
