Donald Trump came in second place in the Republican Iowa Caucuses on Monday. Despite all appearances of his being honored to take second, a Tweet from The Donald’s past has come around to bite him.
Back in December 2013, Trump tweeted a quote from the late professional golfer Walter Hagen: “No one remembers who comes in second.”
People may forget who came in second place, but with the help of social media, no one can forget the irony of this tweet.
Trump may want to prove Walter Hagen wrong and leave this quote to the Ted Cruz campaign.
Here’s what some people tweeted in response:
“No one remembers who came in second.” – Walter Hagen

@realDonaldTrump and no one will remember you when you’re broke from ego.

While some may say that tweet doesn’t matter, signs of Trump’s brooding are evident. He recently tweeted that he will continue to campaign, even though it’s “not worth it.”
I don’t believe I have been given any credit by the voters for self-funding my campaign, the only one. I will keep doing, but not worth it!
