SAN ANTONIO, TX – Police in San Antonio reported that a thief was stopped in the act by the man he attempted to rob. The incident occurred on Monday when the robber leaned into an open car window, snatched a phone and started running.

The owner of the phone saw the thief, got in his SUV and ran him down, breaking his leg and putting the man in the hospital. The owner of the vehicle is claiming that he used a bat to subdue the thief, but evidence from police appears to suggest otherwise.

Authorities said that the man will not be charged with a crime since he was legitimately defending his property at night.
