Suggestion: Replace Twitter Abuse Complaint Form With This…

Complaints Key Showing Complaining Or Moaning Online

Anyone who regularly shares their opinion about anything on social media knows how childish and immature full grown adults can act when challenged on their views. It doesn’t really matter if it’s politics, movies, sports, or what constitutes a real deep-dish pizza, someone is going to be offended or angered over your opinions online.

For the chronically offended, card-carrying victims of the world, Twitter offers a complaint form. I could only imagine that the poor souls who have to comb through these are bombarded with the most ridiculous complaints about hurt feelings and “micro-aggressions.” For us mature adults, if someone says something we don’t like or disagree with, there is the simple option of ignoring them. If they persist, we can always block the offender. But to the perpetually offended, a higher authority must be appealed to in the pursuit of justice.

Here’s Twitter’s complaint form:

Notice disagreement with my opinion is an actual option to complain about. Really Twitter?

I’m sorry–perhaps I am wrong. Hurt feelings are serious matters. But I feel this form doesn’t properly explore all angles of the issue, leaving important details about how and when feelings were hurt out of the equation.

In the hopes of helping, The Libertarian Republic would like to suggest Twitter replace that option on their complaint form with a link to this form:

There you go, Twitter. Now your users can really describe the horrible traumas they endure while using your social media platform. Hopefully, this post doesn’t offend anyone. If it does, please print out the above form, fill it out and email it to: noonegivesaf@getalife.nope
