Students Suspended After Filming Themselves Twerking In Black Face [VIDEO]

A college in Pennsylvania recently suspended two students after they donned blackface and made fun of the Black Lives Matter movement in Snapchat videos.

Students at Albright College recently uploaded videos on Snapchat showing one of them twerking while in blackface, reports Fox 4 KC.

The girl in blackface referred to herself as “Carlisha” and tells the camera, “black lives matter now, okay? Fuck white people.”

Another video shows her stuffing the back of her pants with padding and then twerking to rap music.

The school suspended the two students who were most involved in the videos.

“We unequivocally condemn the behavior in the video. The college celebrates and takes great pride in its diversity… The students involved have expressed deep remorse and voluntarily came forward to report their actions… We are evaluating their behavior with respect to the student code of conduct and will determine what disciplinary action is warranted,” the school said in a statement, according to Fox 4.

“Multiple students of multiple races” had participated and school officials will continue to investigate and decide “the most appropriate sanctions,” the Associated Press reports.

“They have been advised to leave campus immediately and remain available for communications with college officials,” Lex McMillan III, the college’s president said on the school’s Facebook page..

Niani Marz, a senior at Albright, told The Reading Eagle that she had been “floored” by the Snapchat videos, which have sparked a debate on campus.

Some people feel the videos are examples of free speech, while others are bothered by what they think are racially derogatory comments, Marz said.
