Sorry, You Can’t Choose to Be Black

Well, this is embarrassing.

It looks like Rachel Dolezal, the president of the Spokane NAACP and a self-declared black woman, is actually white.  Her white parents from Montana have finally come out to set the record straight. “There seems to be some question of how Rachel is representing her identity and ethnicity,” her father said. “We are definitely her birth parents. We are both of Caucasian and European descent — Czech, German and a few other things.” Awkwwarddddd.

For years, Rachel Dolezal has been trying to “pass” as black by wearing a perm and what looks like bronzer. She claims that she’s been a victim of a number of hate crimes.
She attended historically black Howard University on a full scholarship due to her exclusively African American portraiture. She posted pictures on social media with her black adopted brothers, claiming that they were her sons. She identified as African American on an application to serve on the citizen police ombudsman commission. She is an adjunct professor of Africana studies at Eastern Washington University. Get this– she has taught a class titled the “Black Woman’s Struggle.” Because if anyone knows, it’s her?

“You’ve got a white woman coming in that got a full ride scholarship to the black Harvard,” her father added. “And ever since then she’s been involved in social justice advocacy for African-Americans. She assimilated into that culture so strongly that that’s where she transferred her identity.”

OK. So, she really took an interest in civil rights after the adoption of her black brothers and her time at Howard. That doesn’t change the fact that she was born a blonde girl from Montana! That’s unmistakably white. Mayonnaise. I can see why black people would be pissed that someone is pretending to be black and speaking of their behalf. She could be an ally to people of color (am I getting the SJW terminology right?). She can’t change her race to black, though. That’s not how it works. Sorry, transracial is not a thing. If it was, I’m sure B-Rad from Malibu’s Most Wanted would identify as black and speak about his experiences.

Sorry, Rachel Dolezal, but you’re white. Nothing can change that.
