Silent, Complacent Crowd Watches Girl Violently Beaten in Train Robbery

What is wrong with our society today? I know that’s a question people have been asking since society began; but I don’t know what else to say after seeing a video like this.

Videos like this land on this website for the same reasons they are posted anywhere: human curiosity drives views. But this one resonates with this viewer in a different way.

Watch as this poor girl is targeted, beaten, and mugged while everyone else just looks on. No one intercedes, no one attempts to help the girl, no one even speaks up. The entire train just watches as teenage girls brutalize their victim. Of course, some record it. But none dare step in.

What does it say about this incident that it could only happen because people choose to ignore such things?

At one point the poor girl even pleads for help. To her credit, it seems she refused to give them her iPhone.
